About Vincennes Housing Authority

The Vincennes Housing Authority (VHA) has been providing safe, decent housing for over 67 years. Since its inception in 1937 VHA has been actively seeking ways to meet the needs of people within the community with limited resources. VHA is primarily in the business of providing housing for low-moderate income families; disabled; handicapped and the elderly. We also serve single persons who qualify for assistance under the HUD guidelines.

The four public housing sites, 347 units, at the present time provide housing for 373 adults and 135 children in the City of Vincennes.


Mission Statement

The Mission of the Vincennes Housing Authority is to ensure safe, decent, and affordable housing; create opportunities for residents' self-sufficiency and economic independence. In order to achieve this mission, we will provide, promote and improve affordable, quality housing opportunities and services to meet the identified needs of the people in our community within a compassionate, fair, respectful, professional and progressive environment.
